- Is the claimant engaging in a substantial gainful activity?
- Does the claimant have a severe impairment?
- Does the claimant have an impairment which meets or equates a medical listing?
- Does the claimant's residual functional capacity (RFC) allow a return to past relevant work?
- Does a claimant's RFC allow a return to other work?
- Reviewing medical and vocational evidence from insurance company records.
- Completing necessary application forms and mailing them for the LTD claimant's signature.
- Preparing initial claims for submission to Social Security and, where appropriate, including an assessment of the claimant's disability.
- Filing appeals in the reconsideration, hearing, and appeals council reviews.
